Dr. Perez, In His Own Words…

“For me, the beauty and excitement of plastic surgery lies in the fact that it is an ever-evolving, highly individualized discipline. Plastic surgery is a relatively new surgical specialty, having truly emerged only after the Second World War. Since that time, the field of plastic surgery has given rise to microvascular surgery, limb replantation, and craniofacial reconstruction and has seen tremendous advances in all areas of cosmetic surgery. No other aspect of surgery has seen such explosive growth and refinement of technique as plastic surgery.

In some surgical specialties, the ability to perform an operation the exact same way on every patient, every time, may be considered a skill. This is not so in plastic surgery. Each patient who walks into my office has different anatomy, different needs, and different goals; this must all be taken into consideration when deciding upon and executing a surgical plan.

Thus, as a plastic surgeon, it is my obligation and pleasure to stay current in the plastic surgery literature, add to my knowledge base, continually refine my surgical technique, and, most importantly, craft my operations so that I can consistently deliver a beautiful result that is in accord with each patient’s wishes. The modern era of three-dimensional body sculpting, breast surgery, and facial rejuvenation demands each of these skills and is an area of true passion for me.”
